THAT CAT!!!

Like most card carrying digital artists, I own a cat – a spoilt, orange furred Persian predator that spends most of it’s time marking its sent on my chair (my good chair), the carpet around my desk (and my good chair), and occasionally my wacom tablet (that thing which is my bread and butter with which I make my art).According to most experts, it was highly recommended that I neuter him – which I did.  And lo and behold, it didn’t work.

When he’s hungry, (which is whenever he’s not sleeping), he demands to be fed (which he tells me by biting me).

When he’s not doing either he’s normally on some rampage, trashing the house, clawing and biting everything in sight.

The other day he finally got a chance to prove himself. Being a ˜bitey” cat, I figured, he finally had a chance to put his skills to work.

Last night, there was a large grasshopper in my TV room. A large green thing that size of Cuban cigar sitting there, plain as day on the carpet, as if it had no idea how it even got on the sixth floor of an apartment building. Realizing that I could finally make the cat earn it’s keep, I placed him right next to the green legged monster.

Thinking he’d try to kill it or even, paw and play with it, he instead ran out to the balcony, stood in front of his bowl, looked at me and said:

‘Mew!’

I picked him up, took him back to where the nefarious insect was and placed him in front of it. Hoping that it would work a second time, I looked at him in anticipation.

Instead he ran back to his eating spot, looked up at me and said:

‘Meeeew!’

Realizing I had enough, I picked him up, closed the balcony door, and tried to place him once again in front of the grasshopper. Instead he ran back, opened the balcony door by swatting at it, and stood by his bowl and said:

‘Mew!’

I gave up and fed him.

Stupid cat!

  2. I hope you learned your lesson; Never, under any circumstances whatsoever, feed a cat. It does more bad than good in the long run.
